Lipscomb's Kellie Sirus earns CoSIDA All-Academic honor

Lipscomb University softball player Kellie Sirus was named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team for District IV.

District IV includes the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Alabama.

Sirus, a sophomore from Sarasota, Fla., has a 3.78 grade point average in nursing. She is a third baseman, outfielder and designated player for the Lady Bisons.

In order to be nominated for the academic awards presented by the College Sports Information Directors the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve player with at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA.

Student-athletes are not eligible for the award until their sophomore year.
