Pease named AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year

Lipscomb University setter Stefine "Jake" Pease has been named South Region Player of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

It is the third major award this season for Pease who came to Lipscomb from Berryton, Kansas.. She was also named Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year and Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player. She was also a member of the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team.

Pease posted the most assists in the A-Sun with 1,448. She averaged 12.27 per game, second highest in the conference.

She is 63rd nationally in assists per game in NCAA Division I.

She was a major reason the Lady Bisons earned their first berth in the NCAA Tournament this season, falling in the first round to Dayton.
